Amna
Amna is the oldest known form of Japanese massage. The word anma, pronounced ( AHN-ma ) in Japanese means “ pressing, rubbing and / or friction” and this reflects the techniques which are used. It is applied with the thumbs, fingers, palms and loose fists for percussion. The Amna massage will include light stroking, kneading, vibrating, percussion and pressure techniques as well as movement, stretching and exercise techniques.
This Japanese form of massage uses traditional Eastern Asian medical principles to form a diagnosis. This includes the Ying / Yang and Five element theories
( Fire, Earth, Metal, Water & Wood ).
Tsubo which means; “ Acupunture point ’’ are the points on the body which are located in the meridians ( energy channels ). Tsubo is the most significant concept for the most effective results in the use of Amna. The stimulation of these points will bring relief of pain, specific effects on the internal organs, relieve symptoms, release stagnant ki and generally improve our overall well-being.
Treatment information: Amna massage is performed on a Futon on the floor. Loose cotton, comfortable clothing should be worn. Massage is oil free
