About me
Direction and Focus
Mishelle’s focus is based on the Oriental Medical Theory. This reflects her perspective on “Health’’ which is to help people to restore, improve and maintain balance between their mind and body to prevent illness, injury or disease and enhance well-being.
Her treatment sessions will offer opportunities to learn and discuss nutrition, diet, rest, exercise and lifestyle to help you function effectively and meet the demands of everyday life. It is Mishelle’s priority to provide you with the most suitable, safe, comfortable environment and massage treatment.
Oriental therapies will enhance relaxation, increase energy levels and help to relieve and improve physical symptoms, psychological or emotional imbalance.
Every aspect of her practice is achieved through continuous commitment to ongoing education, professional networking and self resourcing.
Yoga, Makko-ho Stretches and Meditation
YOGA has become an important part of my life and I encourage many of my clients to give it a try to compliment their health goals and use it as a preventative measure against ailment, injury and illness.
People who suffer from a range of medical problems use yoga to manage symptoms and to improve their coping mechanisms.
YOGA is the practice of disciplining the mind, body and spirit to it’s highest potential and ability.
I believe Yoga is a perfect complimentary therapy to Massage and to Life and your purpose.
It has not only helped me to improve my physical strength but has also given me an inner calm and peace, an awareness and connection to my breath and the ability to form a healthy relationship between my Mind, Body and Spirit.
Makko-ho Stretches are a series of stretches which focus on opening up the meridians (energy pathways) in the body. These movements are practiced by Shiatsu practitioners and students.
They work to stretch each pair of meridians, assisting with flexibility and energy flow to our
inner organs.
They are similar to some yoga poses and I practice these each day before I start my day in my
massage practice. I have also recommended some of these to my clients to assist with meridian imbalance and flexibility.
Meditation is a simple and traditional way of stilling our mind, finding our inner peace and connecting with ourselves and our breath. It can be very beneficial for us in so many ways yet many of us avoid it. As it is important for us to do physical activity and exercise, it is just as vital for us to do exercises to calm the mind. It really is as easy as sitting in a quiet, comfortable, softly lit space and sitting with yours eyes closed, breathing In..... pause..... and breathing out.....
Our minds and thoughts can be very overwhelming at times so we may find this challenging. With the stress of our everyday lives, it is important for our well-being to give our minds and bodies the rest it deserves. In meditation our focus should only be with our breath and relaxation, in an environment free from noise and distractions. I often say to my clients who are starting out in meditation to just start out with maybe 5-10 minutes in the morning and the same again in the evening...
Give meditation a try, Relax and Enjoy the peace !
